2009 Reunion
Pictures by Patrick Delaney

We arrived in Chris King's car at the back entrance to Sherborne Church. I went round to look at Sherborne House and to photograph it, but just a glance round the corner was enough. It was not the place I knew - I had no interest in this imposter.

As we were leaving the mini bus came along with the people from the Midlands. Driving to The Fox at Barrington, the roads we went along brought back a feeling of belonging: cycling along them in all my free time at school.

I loved The Fox. We older Old Boys were outside by the river - beautiful site; the sort of place depicted in fairy tale books.

The top group of pictures are a candid series of Al Hawkes telling Peter Mayes an anecdote about the school play. What you see is Al acting out his anecdote. In the background variously are Bob Curtis in the hooped blue and white T-shirt and also Colin Fry.

The lower pictures are: 1) Richard Statham and Peter Mayes. 2) Richard Statham, Chris King (backs to camera), Peter Mayes, Alwyn Hawkes and Nick Sweet leaning over. 3) Richard Statham, Chris King (backs to camera), Peter Mayes, Alwyn Hawkes with Colin Fry. 4) Peter Mayes seemingly looking at the back of Alwyn Hawkes' head, Alwyn in turn looking up at someone or something, while Colin Fry contemplates his beer! 5) Richard Statham (foreground), Chris King and two iof the wives (in the background).

The bottom picture was taken later of Alwyn and Colin Fry.
